I thought I had breakfast in the price but it turned out not to be the case. For the price, (£315 per room per night), I would have expected the breakfast. When I checked by making a new booking, I was getting rooms with breakfast for the price I paid with no breakfast. Anyway, ordered breakfast to be delivered to the room for 8am. Just as well I checked at 7.45am to make sure menu had been taken during the early hours. It hadn’t been collected. I rang down to reception to explain and they delivered just after 8am, which was good, however, if I had not checked we would be waiting and we were on a tight timeframe for our next destination. Ordered sourdough toast and granola compote. 1 thin slice each. No butter! Couldn’t be bothered ringing down by this time. The good thing was when I explained what had happened, they knocked the whole cost of the breakfast off my bill, which I appreciated. Staff were great. took our luggage to room after we arrived early and helped load the car when we left. Despite minor problems, all good.

The hotel itself is extremely grand and beautifully decorated inside. The carpets leading up to the rooms are soft and the staircases are picturesque in their own right. My room was just the right size for me and a range of facilities were available. Plus the abundance of free water, hot drinks and biscuits was a nice touch. I had breakfast twice and the service was thorough and friendly (shout out to the lovely staff member who complimented my brooch) and the breakfast itself had a great range of food, ideal for different tastes and dietary considerations. I also especially loved the ambience of the Morse bar, the staff were professional and approachable and the drinks were exquisitely made. Checking in and out of the hotel was no problem and the staff were very helpful in sorting out my luggage. The location of the hotel is also excellent as it facing the Ashmolean museum and completely within walking distance of other sights in Oxford.

The Randolph Hotel, now a Graduate Hotel, owned by Hilton, is the crowning glory of Oxford. It has a lot of names and just as much history. The big dining room is dedicated to Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland) a former student of Oxford U. The bar is dedicated to another Lewis, Inspector Lewis, but in reality, they begin with Inspector Morse from the Masterpiece series bearing their names. The entire facility is a treasure of discovies each offering a new experience or its homage to this great University City. This place is a masterpiece for an historic and preserved hotel with great food to compliment the rooms. The center of tourism, multiple restaurants, and even a live theater are only short walks away.

The room was beautifully decorated with the most comfortable large double bed that I shared with my 7 year old daughter. We treated ourselves to Room Service for dinner and breakfast which was absolutely delicious - Top marks to the chef at The Alice! The hotel is in a fabulous location and we had a wonderful view from the 4th floor so we saw the Fireworks Display before bedtime - Thank you to The Randolph and the glorious city of Oxford!

When we arrived the staff were very kind (we had a late booking due to having had a disaster with a Airbnb). They went above expectations and really helped made our wedding weekend special. The room was well equipped and very clean. The location made it easy to get everywhere we needed in Oxford on foot. The breakfast was good quality food in a beautiful room.
